Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Bag Lady

Wow, am I tired.

All week I've been working on favor bags for RedLetterDayBags. Today I finished up about 30. Plus, I went through all my bag listings and updated quantities and standardized shipping prices. Add to this that I've been staying up until almost midnight every evening, watching the Olympics, and it's no wonder, I guess, that I'm dragging.

Still, it's been productive and I wanted to whip out this quick post and show you some of the latest projects.

I got a custom order from Australia for some cowboy-themed birthday party favor bags and they were my focus during the early part of this week.  I had so much fun making these!  I'm enamored of vintage (or vintage-inspired) western and bandana print fabrics, anyway, so this was right up my alley.  Here's a sample of the finished bags. This is a Robert Kauffman print. I love his designs! Also Michael Miller's.
Here's a close-up of one of the figures on the fabric:
Isn't it terrific? If you didn't know this was straight from the fabric store, you'd swear this was a vintage print from the fifties.

Another bag project this week was this music-themed pattern. I got the fabric on clearance at JoAnn's.
I rather envision these being used by music teachers to reward their students, or perhaps by brides planning one of those black-and-white weddings.

Then the most fun was the birthday party bags / Halloween bags I made today. I enjoyed this happy, silly print immensely. I wanted something different from the ubiquitous Halloween pumpkins and skeletons, and I was happy to find this fabric.

I'm hoping to move on to some other sewing projects soon besides just the bags. My daughter says she's had a number of people stopping her to ask where she got her purse (see post dated June 16, 2012) so she's encouraging me to make some for sale. I've also had an idea for CD covers. I made a few last Christmas, but I wasn't satisfied with the design. And I'd like to make a skirt.

So many ideas, so little time!!
