Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. New Charity Focus

Now that Peppy's had his surgery and recovered, I've been casting about for a good use for the funds his shop generates. For a while, 10% of the proceeds were going to "Penny's from Heaven" which helped train/place therapy dogs with returning veterans suffering from PTSD. However, that organization seems to have dissolved, and I wanted to do something a little more local.

I'm happy to announce I've found a great pet rescue group that specializes in re-homing pomeranians and other small breed dogs.  It's called Displaced Pets Rescue and it serves northwest Oregon and all of Washington.

Here's the little fellow I want to help first:
This is Teddy! Isn't he a cutie?

Teddy is a 5-year old cream parti-color pomeranian whose original owner was living with him in a car due to a hoarding situation. The owner died, and Teddy needs a proper home--you know, one with a house to live in and a good fenced yard!  You can check out his profile at:

Pet adoption fees are pricey here in Washington state, and for that reason, it can be tough to find homes for displaced pets. Seniors, in particular, benefit so much from having small dogs, but often cannot afford the $300 fee up front. That's where you come in!  20% of all sales are being donated to Teddy's adoption fee account until such time as he is adopted or the $300 fee is accumulated.  Won't you help Peppy help Teddy?

I know what a tremendous blessing my dogs are to me.  I thank God for them every day--actually, several times a day!  I'd like to help someone else experience this very special bond.

I hope you'll pass the word, and thanks for your support!

  2. Oh, dear, Vanessa! Perish the thought! More people like me, bumbling around and creating mayhem wherever I tread, it seems. But I appreciate the thought, all the same!
