Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. A Boy in the House (Or, More Accurately, a Tall, Gangling Young Man)

This was our attempt at using the time-delay feature on the camera this morning. (Our technique could use a little work.)

First there was a slight comedy of errors regarding arrival times, and then the further complication of a traffic jam, but all's well that ends well, and I've got him home!  Hurrah!

I'm so happy........................

It's been a lovely day, just hanging out and running errands, talking and catching up and, of course, Wyatt had to see all the new vintage "gems" we've acquired since he's been gone. As he went straight to the piano after breakfast, he noticed the deer collection additions right away.

Poor fellow, he loves to play but has had no access to a piano for almost six months. First thing this morning he went out to the barn to retrieve the stored-away sheet music and then commenced playing his favorites. It sure sounds good to have music being played in the house again.

One thing Wyatt did today is something I've been hoping to get help with for ages: He filmed Lollia doing her mealtime spinning.

Apparently spinning is not uncommon with certain toy breeds, especially pomeranians. I only found that out recently, however. Until then I had simply been baffled at this unusual--but captivating--behavior. She always spins when being fed, and often when she is excited as well. And if it's time for a treat, she does one polite spin before accepting her tidbit. Peppy never spins, and Wickham occasionally spins--but more typically he jumps and spins, like a little Nijinsky, performing a tour en l'air.

Shown here is a spliced version with spins from breakfast and dinner. Keep an eye on Lollia while the dishes are being prepared (And these are actually rather sedate spins for her. She's usually much faster, a regular whirling dervish.)  Enjoy!
