Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Vacation's Over...

Tomorrow my youngest heads back to college on the east coast, so it's been a little gloomy around the edges here today. He and I went out to breakfast and then did some last-minute errands this morning. He's got most of his packing done and I've got the last load of laundry in the drier right now so he can finish up.

Drat! I'm going to miss him!

I wanted to fix him something special tonight, so it was a real "guy meal". In other words, a nutritionist's nightmare, but a very tasty one, and not a speck of green vegetable anywhere.
Brown Sugar Smokies...Just three ingredients. Recipe link below.

My husband fried potatoes to go with the smokies. I've only made this recipe about 3 times, but it's been a mega-hit with men every time I've served it. It's easy, if a bit messy, to make. I think it actually takes longer to roll the bacon around the little sausages than it does to cook them.

I also got my son to help me with some business card designs on Zazzle today. I've had it in mind to make up some scripture verse cards to enclose in my Etsy shop orders, and when I saw Zazzle was having a 50% off business card sale today, I got him to walk me through the process. (I'm a computer nincompoop.)

We made three designs, each with a photo on one side and a Bible verse on the back. I'm really jazzed with how they turned out! I hope you'll copy and paste the links and have a look.

Let me know what you think, okay? I'm going to post the photos on Pinterest and see if they garner any interest.

  2. Oh, thank you! I'll have to admit a soft spot for the pink panther photo, myself. And, of course, the scripture!
