Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. High Wind Advisory, Round 2

We're under a high wind advisory from 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. today, and there was a lot of debris and a few downed branches on the road today as we drove to church, so I'm wondering how this will play out. Under the circumstances, I couldn't resist slipping this hymn in. I'll give it to you in two different versions, both of which I found on youtube and enjoyed.

I love hymns! The guys singing a capella are especially impressive, though it's sung slower than I like. It's too bad they're going the way of the dodo in today's churches, by and large.

Meanwhile, I'm going to try and work on some totally useless items for attempted Etsy selling. There are always so many bizarre things people are apparently buying there. All I've got to do is find my own particular form of silly audacity and begin to capitalize. Here are some of the more...ahem!.... shall we say unique items I've uncovered recently:

Now here's a plan. Knit something purposely full of snags and holes. I can do that! I don't even have to do it on purpose! I need to rummage through my half-finished projects stash and find something similar that I can charge $49 for. I did start a wonderful feather-and-fan shawl once that was attacked by my cats.... Hmmm, where did I store that?

On the other hand, that does seem like a lot of work. I want something simpler. Now this I could do:

Rustic Mason Jars, Bathroom decor, Home decor, Housewares, Rustic home decor, Gift set, Housewarming Gift, Soap dispenser

I'm not sure, but I think I could tie ribbons and wrap twine around canning jars as well as the next person. Especially for $33 a pop. Now here's a variation that offers a bit more challenge:

Handmade Natural Burlap Flower / Wedding Decor
www.etsy.com/listing/159222073/handmade-natural-burlap-flower-wedding
This little number is available for a modest $18. But there's all that pesky gluing involved, not to mention running that elegant wedding burlap fabric through the blender to get that "just right" shabby chic-ness. And it's a waste of nice lace.

Eating myself to obesity and then repurposing the wrappers is a much more sensible option. I could get the kids involved. Snacking our way to Green nirvana and raking in $12 a set for coasters!

Okay, I'm being very snarky. Don't worry, I shall allow you to laugh at my projects shortly, as soon as (if ever) I complete any. Meanwhile, they say all publicity is good publicity...  Maybe these sellers will have cause to thank me!
