Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. You dastard, you!

There is a certain someone out there who is in big trouble with this blogger...  Someone who has egged me on to new heights (lows?) of vintage covetous tastelessness...  I shan't name any names, but will let you guess who this individual might be:  She who recommended I check out a CERTAIN SITE called www.tinythingsarecute.com.  How low can you go?  Offering a plastics addict like myself that whole pharmacy of tacky, perfectly useless made-in Hong-Kong trash???  As if I needed more excuses to waste time perusing 1960's dimestore and gumball machine treasures...

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RESIST THIS STUFF?

Okay, enough of this!  I must tear myself away.
I will show you what I did yesterday.

This is Sweeney the Weeney, or perhaps PawLeeny the Weeny...  I'm open to naming suggestions.  This is my first ever stuffed animal sewing project and I'm stunned at how nicely he turned out!  The dog himself was finished within just a couple of hours of messing about, and yesterday I puttered around for most of the evening working on his little coat.  This morning I cut out a little felt bone and have attempted to make him a slice of felt bacon.

I'll be putting him up for sale soon on the My Pal Peppy site, and maybe attempting more like him.  Or perhaps I'll see if I can turn him into a chihuahua (like my granddog, Lilith) or, with the  help of some fake fur, a pomeranian!

I hope to post again later today with some oddball finds I've made recently.  Maybe someone out there can help me identify the various bits and bobs.  And you can all have a good laugh at my expense--I don't mind!
("What was that nutty woman thinking to buy that?")  Stay tuned!

I like how vintage it looks
When I sew stuffed animals I usually only do one piece flat ones.
