Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Prayers, Please!

This dear Maine Coon cat is named Merrill, and she's the beloved pet of Vanessa Young, who often comments (bless her!) on this blog.  Today I got this news from Vanessa:

I dont know whats wrong she started acting weird friday but it just seemed like she was mad about something and then she quit eating she even refused her favorite food....
and then she acted like she couldnt walk..yesterday we took her to the vet the minute they opened and they did a ton of tests
it turns out she has a heart mumur and one of her kidneys is to large...she came home but she got worse rapid breathing so I rushed her to the emergency clinic and they kept her until 7am on an IV and did a ton of tests...and then today we took her back to the first vet and they are keeping her overnight...but we are supposed to get her to a specialist and she well have to go on heart medicine.

I hope she makes it ...shes my best friend

If you've ever had a special pet, you'll be able to relate to the anxiety and concern Vanessa's going through.  I'm on my way to prayer meeting right now, and I'm asking my church friends and my blog friends to please pray for Merrill's recovery!

Hang in there, Vanessa!
