Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Amok Time

Attention: Material in today's blog may be objectionable to some readers.

Lollia, my particolor Pomeranian female (okay, bitch) is going into heat again. It will be the last time, because she's going to be spayed as soon as she's out of season.  But meanwhile, she's the belle of the ball and all the "fellas" (three of them--Peppy, Wickham, and our big outdoor mutt, Dexter) find their funny little "kid sister" has suddenly become highly interesting. She enjoys the attention, for the most part, although after a week or so she'll begin to get sick of being followed and chased around.

I was amused this morning to see the proof of Peppy's recent double knee surgery success: for the first time, he doesn't just have to moon around in the background, but can be an active participant, if you take my meaning. Those newly repaired back legs have opened up a whole new world of opportunity for an ardent (if altered) male dog!

Peppy is very happy!
