Peppy Update

I haven't wanted to admit it to myself, but I've become rather worried again about Peppy. He's limping again--only this time, it's one of his front legs. I thought maybe I was imagining it until my daughter-in-law piped up the other day and said, "Have you noticed Peppy is limping?" so I guess it's official. I'll have to schedule an appointment with the vet who handled his luxating patellae situation last year and determine if what I'm seeing is serious or not, and what can be done about it. 

At any rate, I shall have to make an extra effort to raise funds through my best little buddy's MyPalPeppy Etsy shop, and that means it's time to part with some vintage animal toys...


and probably some vintage animal figurines and china pieces...



I'll update you as soon as I have something concrete to report.
I've been watching a BBC production about the Shroud of Turin today. I've seen programs and read some books about this mysterious relic before, but this had a lot of new information in it I'd never heard before. It's very fitting food for thought on the eve of Easter. You can access it here:

    Oh no Poor Peppy did when you had the surgery did the vet say that there was a chance it could come back?

      I was so focused on his back legs last year that I don't even remember talking with the vet about any issues regarding his front legs. As for the back legs and them getting bad again, there's probably the chance of normal wear and tear happening. He had grooves made in his knee bones to hold the ligament or tendon in the right place, and I can't see that coming undone, though I'm careful to keep him from jumping and damaging himself. He did have arthritis issues and he's stuck with them, but at least we've halted and/or slowed down any further degeneration.
