Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Tiny Bunnies

I rather dropped off the radar screen this past week, and I wish I could tell you it was because I'd been accomplishing lots of wonderful things, but it's Sunday, and I'd rather not go to church with a blatant lie on my conscience.

I can't even think what I have been doing this week, other than the usual routine. Housework. Laundry. Loading items on Etsy. Shipping orders. Errands. Getting a terrible haircut. You know--life.

First, I suppose I should give you the Craftsy Mystery Knit-Along update:

SNARL.....................!!!

Actually, I meant I'd got my knitting into a snarl, not that I am snarling... Oops. That blatant lie was just determined it was going to make it past my lips--or, in this case, my typing fingers. Okay. So it's not going well. Not badly, just not going, period. One evening I noticed I'd misplaced one of the wrap-and-turn stitches. I debated with just ignoring it and dealing with it in some fudging manner later on, but decided the proper thing to do would be to backtrack and fix it. And that is not going well. Ever try to unwrap and unturn a wrap-and-turn stitch? And there are so many of them in the row!

So, the long and short of it is, the shawl is lying neglected until I can summon the will to tackle it again. Give me a few days and I'll buck up.

Meanwhile...

I decided to just have a bit of fun and attempt an idea that's been rattling around in my head for some time. I had a tiny piece of print fabric with two cute little rabbits on it. Here is what I came up with:

I took this outside to get some photos in the morning light. Lollia very obligingly stepped in to provide scale.
Wickham very obligingly stepped in to sample the wares.
He was dissuaded from doing so.

I'm thinking I'll fine-tune these little guys a bit and put them up for sale on the MyPalPeppy site, though I'll hate to part with them, if truth be told. I've no idea about pricing. Any ideas?

Other news...

I've been searching for some kind of tone-on-tone white or cream print fabric to make a simple and inexpensive type of wedding favor bag. Something I can offer to budget-minded brides who still want something elegant. While I haven't succeeded finding anything to fill the bill, I did stumble upon this:

With so many brides preferring a more cottage chic approach to their wedding accoutrements, I thought this might appeal to them. It has a simple charm.

Unfortunately, I got the last 2 1/4 yards left on the bolt and I can't find more anywhere, though I did a lot of online searching yesterday. The fabric is marked in the selvedge as "Karen Neuburger, c. 2007 KN Ltd. for Quilting Treasures" and "This collection supports Women's Heart Health." If any of you reading this should know where I could obtain more of this fabric, I would be so grateful if you'd drop me a line--either here in the comments, or through one of the Etsy shops. I figure I can get about 80 bags from the yardage I have, but I find many brides plan on 150 favors or more. (I don't think I even know 150 people, let alone 150 people I'd want present at a wedding, but then not everyone is as much of a hermit as I am.)

Well, I'd better close for now. I'll try and post again within a few days.

  2. Thanks, Vanessa! I actually found one more tiny bunny print today so I can make one more. I was thinking along the same line for pricing, so that's a good confirmation to me that I'm in the right ballpark there. I'm jazzed now to hunt out some more little fabric prints I can use. You're right--miniatures are fun!
