Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Yesterday my middle son and his wife spent the day and we had a lot of enjoyment watching old family videos of when the kids were little. It was bittersweet entertainment for me--I am delighted with who (whom?) my kids have become, but I do miss those sweet little people they used to be! Guess that means it's time to switch into full-fledged Grandma mode, speaking of which, we are expecting a new grandbaby in September, so I hope to make and share a lot of baby projects in the weeks to come.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Since this blog seems to running to a child rearing theme today, I will share some of the vintage toys I found at the sale I went to on Friday.

1989 CBS "Muppet" musical carousel wind-up toy. I paid 10 cents for it. It plays "It's a Small World After All" and the figures go up and down and around.
Cute little vintage toddler sunglasses. Free box find!
11 vintage tin lithographed toy plates from probably the 1970s! Another free box treasure.

Well, enough for now. High time I got on with my housework, but I'll have more show-and-tell to come shortly. I'm also excited about some new Etsy shops I've discovered lately and want to share them with you, so do "stop by" again.
