Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Just Checked the Calendar....

EEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!

11 Days Until Thanksgiving

38 Days Until Christmas

...I have SO got to get off mine!

It's been an insane (though productive) weekend. Yesterday I glued myself to the computer and took part in the Epsteam new listings marathon. I posted 30 new items (31 if you include the custom listing for which I didn't have to do any fancy photography or description) and my shops had over 2000 "faves" between them. Best of all, I had a bunch of sales! Rah, rah, and kudos to Epsteam, otherwise known as Etsy Pickers and Sellers Team which, if you sell on Etsy, you really should consider joining:

But now I've promised myself to lighten up on my Etsy life and get on with my real one.

Every year I have this goal of being organized and relaxed for Thanksgiving and the Christmas season (Stop snickering!!) but it's always a challenge. More of a mirage, actually, but I keep crawling across the proverbial desert toward it.

But I do have a plan: Every day I will do ONE thing specifically to get ready. Either a cleaning project or a baking project or a sewing or knitting or decorating project. Slow and steady wins the race, eh?
I've been inspired by this nifty motivational poster available from EscapeModulePrints.etsy.com:

Now my future self would be happy if I just wiped up the microwave today, let alone accomplished some "great and noble task", as Helen Keller expressed it. But it's important to be realistic.
Baby steps, baby steps...

Which makes me think...  I should plug in What About Bob? and entertain myself while sorting papers and magazines for recycling and shredding so I can get out from under the paper mountain that seems to erupt daily from the mailbox. That would make me feel good! And after that I should make cookies. Or maybe a batch of butter rolls. Or just take a nap.

  1. I hear you with the paper mountain -- we have a mail slot in the door and it's funny to see the mail spewing forth onto the floor! I just came from your shipping notification... good idea to put your blog address on it!! (I bought the mini Gnome books). I'm also a member of Epsteam -- via my vintage shop, Magnolia's Attic. That's awesome that you got so many faves and sales from the blitz! Following your blog!
