Over the weekend, my digital camera went missing so I'm effectively stopped in my tracks at loading any new Etsy items. Result: more time to blog! Aren't you thrilled? (Please don't answer!)
Actually it's more time to do yard work since we're having the most wonderful weather. So welcome and so unexpected after three years of unusually cold and wet springs/summers. I've gotten excited and ordered myself more daylilies! I can always count on them to thrive, no matter how badly my other plants fare.
Did you know there are daylilies for sale on Etsy? I didn't! I was so excited to find these plants / sellers.
First, check this out:
This stunner is called "Kwanso" and it's available at a great price from ArborFieldPlants. |

Here's a real treasure if you're feeling like splurging on a newer variety. I had to have this one, not only because it's an absolute beauty, but because I love the name. A little bird told me the expected new grandchild is a little girl and her name is to be Gwendolyn. I shall justify the expense by declaring it to be my own Mother's Day present:
This romantic-looking lovely is available at DaylilyHeaven. |
I was fascinated to learn that this daylily is not only propagated by Phil Reilly of Daylily Heaven, but that he is the hybridizer as well. Mr. Reilly is a reknowned daylily expert and has even won the covered Stout Medal for one of his other cultivars, Fooled Me. The Stout Medal is the highest award a daylily can receive. Not too shabby, eh?!
I'll have to add Fooled Me to my collection next. This photo is from the Oakes Daylilies site: | http://www.oakesdaylilies.com/categories/daylilies/products/3382-fooled-me |
I found another fascinating shop on Etsy recently and I just have to tell you about it!
As many of you know, MyPalPeppy specializes in animal-related vintage items. Here's a new shop that's taken that idea one step further. If you love dogs, cats, and vintage, you must take a look at
Kitties and Mutts!
Let me show you some of my favorites from this delightful shop.

These are just a few examples of delightful vintage dog and cat items you can find at Kitties and Mutts. But my especial penchant is for these terrific vintage dog and cat brooches:

Do you need another reason to visit this shop? Sandy and Jackie have a sale going! Right now, you can get 15% off by using the coupon code SPRING13 at checkout. The sale lasts only a few more days, though, so do hurry if you want to take advantage of the savings.
My own sale (MelmacParadise.etsy.com and MyPalPeppy.etsy.com) is going on right now through May 13. Use coupon code MAY13 for 13% off!
Oh, and another plug:
I'm presently in a BNS (Buy and Sell) and if you have an Etsy shop yourself, I invite you to take a look at the treasury. If you buy in, your shop will be featured in a future round. Nice way to get something you like at a savings (all the shops participating have sales or special offers) AND your shop will get added publicity. It's a win-win.

Oh no! I hope you find your camera soon..no etsy seller can be without one..
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers! do they smell good?
The camera situation is a bummer... expensive to replace, so I'm hoping it will turn up. Have the scary feeling it got taken out to the woods and lost, though we've been tramping around hunting for it. Meanwhile, I'm making treasuries and such, and it will free me to clean and repair things I've had stashed up to sell. Still, AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteI don't these these two daylilies will have much fragrance--most of them don't. But I do have some varieties that are HEAVENLY. One is an old fashioned clear yellow that I think is referred to as a "Lemon Lily" and I can hardly wait for it to bloom every year. It may be the variety properly named as "Hyperion" but I'm not sure. Oakes Daylilies has a whole category of fragrant daylilies and I bought some last year. I'm excited to see how they do this year!
