One of the things I got listed (finally!) are my pretty organza drawstring bags. I filled one with salt water taffy and it looked quite nice like that, so.... I'm finally off dead center with that particular project. I'm thinking flower girls, little girl birthday parties, wedding stuff, etc. Drawstring bags are the most time-consuming type of sack I make, so I hope the price doesn't scare customers off. Considering they can always go to the Dollar Store (ick) and get mass-produced sweat-shop cheesy organza bags for a fraction of what I'm asking, I'll just have to wait and see how these do.
Tomorrow is the first Saturday of November, hence, Fruitcake Day. I started doing that in about 1979, I think. Not that nasty, technicolor, scary candied fruit fruitcake, but the kind made with actual dried fruit--raisins, apricots, dates, cherries, and so on. It's tart and tangy and chewy, and never the same two years running. I'm always reminded of that movie, State Fair, and the prize-winning mincemeat that kept getting dosed secretly with more and more brandy. Yeah, I know... Bad Baptist!
