Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Etsy Treasury

I just put together a treasury I'm rather pleased with, "Small Packages", made especially for afficionados of small breed dogs:

It's been a quiet Sunday here.  I spent the afternoon puttering with an ancient project of mine, that of fashioning old Christmas cards into boxes.  My youngest son obligingly burrowed his way into the closet under the staircase for me and fished out the container holding my supplies. Yes, it's a hokey craft, but it's a vintage hokey craft and I don't want to see it die out.

I originally purchased this box at a church bazaar before my kids were born:
It's getting a bit battered and faded now, but I'm still rather smitten with it.

I'd only had it for a few years, though, when I decided to sit myself down and decipher the process by which it had been made, and went to work making my own. I suppose I've made about four of them over the years. A few of them I've given away, and others have succumbed to the ravages of life with children, but I thought I'd give it another go. Today I began on a new box:

Having shown the first few pieces here, I hope I'll be motivated to finish it and post photos of the completed project soon.  Feel free to nag.
