Let us put by some hour of every day for holy things...

I will not doubt, though all my ships at sea
Come drifting home with broken masts and sails.
I will believe the Hand which never fails,
From seeming evil, worketh good for me.
And though I weep because those sails are tattered,
Still will I cry, while my best hopes lie shattered:
I trust in Thee.
--Ann Kimmel

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labor of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Peppy's Progress

I'm happy to report that Pep is seeming much more like his old self again. He's still got a long way to go, but when he was out in the yard on his leash today, he was actually walking at a fairly good clip and wagging his tail.  He doesn't cover much distance before sitting suddenly and shaking with the exertion--maybe 10 or 15 feet, but he's moving with a reasonably normal gait and giving me his good dog smile every so often, instead of the listless, morose demeanor he's worn for most of the last 10 days. It's such a relief to see him improving and getting past the worst stage of this double knee surgery.  He is licking and nosing at his legs a lot--I can tell the incisions are itching.

On the other hand, now, there's his unsteady, wincing, mincing owner--moi.  I am mortified to admit that, a mere five days after the original sprain, I tripped and twisted the same ankle again. Never have I had a run of clumsiness like this!  And oh, did it hurt! I thought the first time was bad.

So now it's wrapped up in an ace bandage and I'm moving like the proverbial little old lady. It's definitely cramping my style.

Oh, well.

I have managed a bit of sewing, nothing major, just some fun birthday party favor bags in bandana and western print fabrics:

I have a bunch more fun prints I plan to use to continue the cowpoke theme...  Vintage print fabric makes me happy!

I also had fun posing a little vintage deer today for a listing photo:

Last week, I did the same for this delightful Dino:

I know Etsy sophisticates recommend a plain white background for one's photographs, but what fun is that?

My next goal is to launch into the 21st century, before even having my feet properly wet in the 20th, so far as social networking goes. Hold yourself in readiness!!  I am going to give Pinterest and Twitter a try.  Hopefully I will do better at that than I did with Facebook, where I lasted only about 10 minutes before throwing in the towel.

    Love the sweet little deer!

I prefer interesting backgrounds when I first started on etsy thats what I did...but then when I asked people what they thought of my shop they hated the backgrounds one person even told me to throw everything away because it was trash :O
